New things to come....

Ah....one of my favorite weekends of the year is approaching. Art on the Square. Every year Belleville hosts an amazing art fair, and this year it's over the weekend of May 15, 16, & 17.

I'm so excited! We live 3 blocks from downtown, and I can walk to the fair whenever and however often I like. There are at least 100 artists, plus a High School art gallery (which I love!), bands and more food & beer than you can shake a stick at.

The big bonus for me is that the weekly Belleville Farmer's Market is also downtown. Artist vendors can have a booth at the market for a mere 10 Dollars! You see where I'm going here, right? Yep, I applied for a booth at the Farmer's Market and will be in the hub bub of all of the activity selling my little art pieces!!! yay! Hopefully, I will get some really great overflow from the fair!

If you're in town, stop by and say hi: Governor French Academy Parking Lot 7am-noon, Sat. May 16.

blog-gone-it

Sorry I've been away for a while. I think my creative brain needed a bit of a rest. Those last 2 shows just wore me out.

The good news is that I was accepted into the Show-me Etsy Street Team!!! YAY!!! I already have a pretty busy schedule, but I'm going to try very hard to make each monthly meeting - as long as my work schedule permits.

While I was on my creative hiatus, I decided that it's time to move away from polymer clay. Or, at least as working w/ PC as a large part of my art. My truest love is using old or discarded objects and turning it into functional art. I really, really, really want to be able to buy a kiln so that I can start using bottle glass to create fun and exciting pieces using a process called pate de verre.

In the meantime, while I penny-pinch and save, I surf the web and admire other artists whose mediums are recycled objects. My latest find is a guy named John Unger from Michigan. He makes these really cool fire pits from scrap propane tanks. I uber love (yes, uber love) the fleur de lis fire pit! Maybe I could ask for it for our wedding!
